An Introduction
The original Loch Palm Golf Course was designed by Dr. Sukitti Klangwisai and open for operation in November 1998. The 18 hole par 72course has a yardage of 6,434.The course has been designed around the beautiful Crystal Lake which is the largest body of water to be found within any Phuket golf course. The lake adds to the overall beauty of the course as well as providing a significant golfing challenge in itself.
Arguably the most relaxing golf course on the island, Loch Palm is located just 7 kms from Phuket Town & is an easy 15 minute drive from Patong. Loch Palm has recently completed major re-designs and multi-million dollar upgrades. The course is in great shape and as the refurbishment & landscaping matures its future as one of the principal courses on the island is assured.
Spread over 400 Rai (160) acres of lush rolling hills, the course has been carefully designed to blend beautifully with the gorgeous tropical terrain. Nestled below a panoramic range of mountains, the course demands perfect control of your game as the tightly routed layout is designed to make you think about your game carefully.
Normally blessed with a breeze, and with more than 1400 mature palms lining the fairways, the course is very scenic but don't let this lull you into a false sense of security. This course abounds with a number of hazards and challenging greens.
Complimenting the golf course is a sprawling country style clubhouse. The accompanying amenities are spread over approximately 5 Rai. (2 acres). Here you can dine at the lake side terrace, practice your swing at the attached aqua driving range or simply enjoy watching others doing so. Optional golf cars are also available.
The Signature Hole
Hole 16 th Par3 - 220 yards
This is without doubt the most challenging hole. Situated alongside a large lake with the green approached between two sand bunkers, the approach shot is of the utmost importance. Should you find your self in the left hand bunker, a misjudged bunker shot can go rolling away down the hill. Beware. To get the ball out of the right bunker demands a fine bunker shot as it is 2 meters in depth. The green is difficult to read and can be a 3 putts finish unless great care is taken.
